Own the P'Zone® Chow-lenge This Weekend
Dallas, TX (May 30, 2009) — On Saturday May 30, two titans of Major League Eating (yes, it's a legitimate league!) will compete against each other in what will be one of the toughest competitions in their career – the Pizza Hut P'Zone Chow-lenge. Legendary eater Takeru Kobayashi will try to unseat current world champion Joey Chestnut in a six minute competition to see who can eat the most P'Zones. Part of our new Big Eat Tiny Price menu, The Herculean P'Zone weighs in at more than one pound and is sealed with hot and tasty pizza ingredients – best of all, it's just 5 bucks!
Taking place shortly before the Spike TV Guy's Choice Awards, the competitive eating event will be open to sports and entertainment media, as well as celebrities attending the awards show. Additionally, an abbreviated version of the contest will air as part of the Guy's Choice Awards on the Spike Network June 21.
We expect more than 50 media outlets to attend the event such as Entertainment Weekly, photographers from Getty images, ESPN, FOX sports, and more. Additionally, we'll be conducting pre and post-event interviews with the champion eaters.
For Eating Machines, the Guy's Choice Awards + Pizza Hut P'Zone + Major League Eating is a match made in heaven.
Stay tuned for a coverage report early next week and be on the lookout for stories this weekend! Additionally, we'll be tweeting live from the event, so follow us at twitter.com/pizzahut if you haven't already.
